NSC has, for nearly 30 years, provided support to the training ambitions of the British Army. During this time the company has:

  • Designed and delivered multiple simulated training systems to compliment live and constructive training.
  • Designed scenarios and supported the running of the Defence Academy’s ICSC, ACSC and HCSC officer training exercises.
  • Delivered Op JCOVE and subsequently the UBVT (Unit Based Virtual Training) and VRLT (Virtual Reality In-Land Training) contracts for the British Army.

We are currently working with our business partners to support the Army’s Kenya based training exercises through the Tactical Engagement Simulation in Kenya (TESIK) project. As such we require a number of Training Analysts to ensure training objectives are met to the customer satisfaction in Kenya for TESIK and UK/Europe for UBVT/VRLT deployments.

You will work to a Team Leader whilst in Kenya to provide British Army training that is instrumented. As a member of a team of up to six tactical analysts supporting British Army Training in Kenya, you will provide continuity of Service Delivery in Kenya and contribute to continuous improvement of Service delivery. You will deploy on field exercises in Kenya for up to 35 days (exclusive of travel) at a time at least 4 times annually. Duties will include assisting military personnel in the production of After Action Reviews (AAR) utilising data gathered on the Tactical Effects Simulation (TES) system, provide military personnel advice on how to best utilise the TES system to maximise training outcomes through instrumented training and manage, store and exploit data on behalf of the customer in line with legislation.

The role will consist of field deployments, will be ‘under canvas’ and you will need to be flexible/agile to cater for the differing training needs of personnel undertaking training. You will be capable of working in a small dedicated team of contractors, sometimes in austere conditions, to deliver training to British Army personnel. Physical fitness/robustness is paramount along with a desire for continuous improvement and innovation of training and data analysis.

When not committed to the TESIK project the role will also involve supporting other business activity as part of the NSC Land Training Team delivering projects such as UBVT and VRLT.

UBVT and VRLT work consists of support to training events (TE) in the generation of mission scenarios, maintenance and configuration of equipment prior to event delivery. You will support the set-up and testing of hardware and software (VBS3) on-site at TE start, provide support to briefings and training of Trainees on system use. You will assist in controlling the running of the mission scenario (filling the roles of Technical Support, EXCON, HICON & OPFOR) and support the generation of AAR materials and feedback. You will provide support to Trainees during the event and act as first line support for any technical issues. Full training on all systems and tools will be provided. The successful candidate will be a SNCO or Warrant Officer who has recent experience of current Army training tactics with the following experience;
