NSC is supporting the UK Government’s research of next-generation Simulation and Synthetic Environments (SSE) for the British military. The work will cover the development of synthetic environments, modelling and simulation capabilities, and associated tools and assessment processes to allow UK Defence to train, exercise and prepare for future operations. It will also seek to test, evaluate and assess the performance of military capabilities and the C4ISR enterprise, as well as enhance and sustain UK Defence’s use of synthetic and simulation environments across all Defence applications.
Over the next 5 years NSC will lead this cutting-edge work and be at the forefront of delivering and managing exciting innovations, specifically the exploitation of ‘Synthetic Environments and Simulation Technology’ to incorporate emerging systems and processes to enhance future training capabilities.
We require a Product Manager who will act as product owner/innovation lead. You will be responsible for guiding the success of these innovations and working with diverse cross-functional teams responsible for delivering from concept to customer acceptance. It is an important organisational role that sets the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for various initiatives.
The successful candidate will have experience in;
- Strong client liaison skills
- Managing and shaping customer requirements
- Leading and managing scientific/technical Studies
- Overseeing Proof of Concept development
Ideally, you will have experience of the application of Virtual and Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence to training. The work consists of, although not limited to;
Innovative Solutions to Force Preparedness, e.g. simulation support to fast-tracking new equipment into service, providing decision support tools
Experimentation and Exploitation, including models and concept demonstrators, Human/Machine Interface solutions incl. use of AI, sim support to experimentation across MOD.
Simulation Composition: Scenario generation and visualisation; Virtual and constructive simulation; Real time and faster-than-real-time simulation; Cloud-based application development.
Synthetic Environments Integration: With operational systems and other simulation. Live/synthetic or mixed reality inter-operability; Architecture, integration, testing
Application Support: Experimental design and delivery; Learning methods and Training systems; Decision Support Data Analytics & Visualisation; Virtual prototyping.
Because of the nature of the work successful candidates must be able to obtain UK security clearance.
