NSC’s on-going success in the defence market means we are looking for an experienced Mathematical Modeller with an appreciation of the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques and software development skills. Your role will see you tasked by clients in the military and security domains with the collection, management and analysis of data and information which you will utilise to prepare and deliver insightful studies and reports. With previous defence experience you will understand of these domains, and the threats they face in an uncertain world.

We are looking for a Mathematical Modeller who has an understanding of Artificial Intelligence applications with sound software development skills. The key selling points of this job are the challenging nature of the work (heavy physics or mathematical focus) and the variety of problems to solve.
In addition to technical analysis, modelling and software development and, dependant on your level of commercial experience, you will also be required to meet with customers to gather requirements, discuss solutions, specify research required and communicate information to other stakeholders.
Due to the highly technical nature of the work a history of high academic achievement is essential – mostly A grade A levels followed by an Engineering, Maths, Physics or similar degree.
Skills should include post-graduate research or development experience in mathematical/physics based topics relevant to engineering, e.g
Modelling of dynamical systems
Operational modelling and/or operational research
Machine learning or autonomous systems
Appreciation of the application of Artificial Intelligence
Software engineering with at least one of Matlab, R, Python, Java/JavaFX, C#/WPF/UWP, C++
