We are pleased to announce that NSC has been acquired by QinetiQ Group plc (Qinetiq), on Monday 3rd February. QinetiQ brings skills, resources and experience that will help manage the growth the company has seen in the delivery of managed training services.

The increased scale as part of the QinetiQ Group will allow NSC to pursue larger contracts and take larger roles within them. Further, NSC will be able to leverage existing functional support and business infrastructure that will be key to supporting future growth.

NSC will retain its existing management team with no impact on current contractual obligations or change to the culture and ethos of the business that drives its growth and success. It will be most closely associated with QinetiQ’s Cyber, Information & Training (CIT) business while offering pan-QinetiQ capability.

NSC significantly augments QinetiQ’s capability in modelling and simulation, as well as synthetic environments and operational analysis, NSC’s recognised capabilities in these areas will be reinforced by QinetiQ’s existing teams. The combined footprint of the two companies will provide further opportunity for growth, leveraging QinetiQ’s international footprint and experience in the Air domain, particularly through lnzpire’s operations.

NSC CEO Jeremy Spurr said: “QinetiQ has been chosen by NSC because of the close alignment with their current activities and future business strategy. QinetiQ have correctly identified the potential to grow both their existing business areas and those of NSC beyond that which could be achieved independently, by combining our complementary skills and capabilities. This has been an important factor for the current owners in agreeing to the sale as being in the best interests of both companies and providing wider opportunities for NSC employees in the future. The acquisition supports the next phase of development for the Company, strengthening investment and accelerating growth within a supportive environment, which will include preserving the strengths of the NSC culture, values and ethos.”

James Willis, Managing Director of CIT, said: “I am really excited about the possibilities that NSC creates for QinetiQ as a whole. Training is a growing area both in the UK and internationally and working with NSC will enhance our capability in areas such as modelling and simulation, synthetic environments and operational analysis. Likewise, I feel we have lots to add to support their business and help them continue their growth.”
