Graduate Software/Simulation Developer

PD035   Apply Now

NSC is a world‑class provider of cutting‑edge training, simulation and consultancy services.

Since our formation in 1991, we have been at the forefront of our field - developing and delivering innovative solutions for military and civilian customers around the globe.

We are adept at educating senior commanders and young soldiers individually and collectively, and can boast an impressive record of providing training, simulation and consultancy services tailored to our clients' requirements for more than two decades.

Our precision gunnery and decision support tools help those in defence prepare for an ever‑evolving operational landscape.

We pride ourselves on the fast, flexible services we deliver and our ability to know what challenges are on the horizon, ensuring that our clients stay ahead of the game.

At the heart of NSC's success lies our software and simulation teams.  They work with cutting edge technology to develop the training and simulation solutions widely admired by the military audience who have benefited from the training NSC has delivered over the years.  From JCOVE (Joint Combat Operations Virtual Environment) to the current UBVT (Unit Based Virtual Training) model, the NSC teams constantly develop and design systems that meets and goes beyond the training requirements the modern day Army demands.

In parallel with our training and simulation skills, NSC's consultancy teams provide subject matter expertise to a wide range of clients in support of experimentation, operational analysis and modelling.  The UK's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) is among the benefactors of the continuity of knowledge and modelling expertise provided by our staff.  NSC has been selected as the modelling and simulation lead in Dstl's Operational Analysis Strategy and Capability programme, which brings together 18 companies to evaluate the current range of tools, techniques and technologies available to the Ministry of Defence.

Other taskings include exploiting the application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms in simulating tactical behaviour.  Where AI is currently used in a pre-scripted capacity, our ground-breaking thinking allows complex algorithms to be applied to any problem.

Modern day warfare has many facets, over recent years’ cyber-attacks are becoming more prevalent. The British Army and the wider defence industry recognise the threat and are working with NSC to address this in a resilient manner. NSC is leading the development and virtualisation of cyber wargaming tools in order to protect military platforms and systems against malicious attacks.

We are currently seeking graduates who are keen to be part of an organisation that recognises its people are core to its success and rewards their hard work accordingly.  You will benefit from structured and hands-on training working amongst those technical staff who are recognised as innovators in the field of virtual training and simulation.  NSC is a dynamic and agile company unencumbered by 'corporate bureaucracy', an organisation where your career development is dictated by your own abilities.

You will have a minimum 2:I degree in software engineering/development, have the ability to 'think outside the box', possess excellent communication skills and welcome the opportunity to work as part of a team that constantly pushes the boundary of software development and training delivery.
