Operational Level

Fulfilling a similar role to JOCASTS for commanders at the operational level, CONTACT is a real-time simulation of the contemporary operating environment.   Delivered via a highly-visual training arena, CONTACT confronts commanders with the complexities of war by presenting them with the very challenges that they would face in a modern theatre.   At brigade level, CONTACT provides a view of every aspect of an operational headquarters over large terrain areas. The multi-user system incorporates a full set of assets, including land, air and maritime platforms and capabilities.   The system adds factors such as religious extremism and peacekeeping and humanitarian missions to military conflict, providing detailed education and training to military commanders.   The system is used by the British Army, which deploys CONTACT at the United Kingdom Defence Academy and Land Warfare Centre.
