NEW Vacancy - Operational Analyst

Newman & Spurr Consultancy Ltd (NSC) is well known as a
world class provider of simulation and analysis driven Decision
Support and Training Solutions. NSC Consultants are fielded
globally providing Operational Analysis, Modelling and
Simulation software and Exercise Design and Delivery of
War-game solutions encompassing the full spectrum of
conflict, at all operational levels. You will be working in
a team of technical and business professionals in
overseeing and ensuring good quality Operational
Analysis and conducting Research Studies on
behalf of defence and military clients. Typically a graduate
with a good degree, you will have had several years
experience of OA and enjoy a role that is very customer
facing. Successful candidates will be required to undergo

GENERAL VACANCIES

If you meet the following criteria we may be interested in you:

  • Good degree in Maths, Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science

  • Software Engineering with skills in some or all of the following: Object Oriented Design, UML, Delphi, .NET, C++, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, SQL, MS Access, Visio

  • Operational Analysis with skills in some or all of the following: numerical analysis, statistics and modelling techniques using tools such as Access, Excel and VBA

  • Background in defence industry preferred

Military Advisors:

  • Recent experience in the military, preferably in a single or joint service HQ environment

  • Experience of staff officer training and exercise planning

  • Sound knowledge of military concepts and doctrine

  • Understanding of wargaming, simulation and modelling techniques

  • Teaching and/or mentoring skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in pressurised situations

Graduate Entry:

  • Good degree in Maths, Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science

  • Strong interest in Software Engineering, Mathematical Modelling and/or Operational Analysis
