JOCASTS (the Joint Operations Command
and Staff Training System) is a computer
based wargame simulation developed by
NSC to meet the training objectives of the
UK Joint Services Command and Staff College.
Developed in collaboration with the end user,
JOCASTS has been designed from the outset
to provide a realistic context in which to
exercise command decision making and
staff procedures at the operational level.

JOCASTS represents land, air and maritime forces, so it can be used for either single, combined or joint force operations depending on the training requirement.
The graphical interface displays the current situation in the form of a Joint Operational Picture, an amalgamation of friendly force locations and known enemy positions identified from recent intelligence.
Unit or formation tasking is carried out via the interface through a combination of pull-down menus, forms and drag-and-drop.
