NSC uses an innovative commercial model to serve as a vital partner of the Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research (CHACR) – a military think-tank tasked with ensuring the British Army is not out-thought on the battlefield.

Our support to the Army’s hub for scholarship and debate includes the provision of its director, research staff and technical and project management experts and showcases a novel civilian-military collaboration.

In addition to supplying high-calibre individuals, whose specialisms in International Affairs span Middle Eastern, Russian, Balkan, Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean geopolitics and religious conflicts, we assist in the planning and delivery of a programme of research and analysis into the enduring nature and changing character of combat.

The CHACR was established at the request of the former Chief of the General Staff, Gen Sir Nick Carter, to inform military doctrine and force development and to sustain the conceptual component of the Army’s fighting power. We make use of our expansive network of leading academic institutions and world-renowned experts to assist the Centre in achieving these aims.
