Depth of Knowledge to be Applied to Maritime Research

NSC is standing by to further assist NATO’s Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) having been competitively chosen as a potential source of modelling, simulation and software engineering support.

An endorsement of the company’s computing expertise, the Basic Ordering Agreement could see specialists from the UK-based consultancy deploy to the world-class research and experimentation facility in La Spezia, Italy, to support a range of projects.

NSC’s selection is the latest chapter in an enduring relationship with CMRE, which delivers innovative and field-tested science and technology solutions to address the defence and security needs of NATO.

Last year, the company was called on to support the Centre in the development of a strategy for its Multinational Shared Training concept.

The work involved reviewing proposals for the structure of a combined action and implementation plan and examining the performance parameters of Alliance stakeholders.

NSC also continues to provide its analytical acumen to the NATO Communication and Information Agency team tasked with quantifying the military assets and efforts required from each of the Alliance’s member nations.

Working closely with defence planners in The Hague, Chris Gray – NSC’s principal operational analyst – is helping to consolidate and “mine” data from 28 contributing countries to define future minimum capability requirements and identify any potential shortfalls.
